This month we are very excited about our new Fairtrade Roast and Ground Coffee range which comes in five different varieties, from Wakey Wakey to One for the Road, to ensure there is a Clipper Coffee for every moment. This month the ten chosen Clipper Sippers were sent all five packs of our Roast and Grounds and we asked them to try each of the five variations and share their exper-teas with a short review.
As always, we had a really great response and received some fantastic reviews. We have included some of our favourites below.
This coffee has a strong aromatic smell when you open the bag, slightly fruity but something a little different which is difficult to put your finger on. When mixed with water it appears creamy and very dark and smells very appetising, again with a sweet smell that I still can’t put my finger on. Finally after tasting the coffee I’ve found out what this flavour is – it’s a cross between liquorish and caramel, a sort of burnt sweet goodness. The flavour is intense and delicious; it’s strong, slightly ‘earthy’ and has a really dynamic taste. The coffee is smooth and the flavours seem to unfold as you drink it more and although slightly strong, it’s difficult not have mug after mug of this one because it’s such a unique flavour. The overall flavour of this coffee is pretty amazing and my favourite of the lot, it’s now hidden at the back of the fridge away from my housemates as I made the mistake of allowing them to try it with me.– Shereen
This is a sophisticated, adult coffee. I loved it! It’s dark and sultry and delicious – the perfect way to bring the evening to a close. – Elizabeth
Plenty of flavour, good colour and a wonderful aroma filling my kitchen – just perfect for a chilled day to yourself when everyone else appears to be watching rugby!!– Helen
This is a very pleasant and very acceptable decaf. Much decaf tastes like there is something missing – well, I suppose there is – the caffeine! The flavour of this decaf is good but could have been a bit richer for my taste. Much superior to my usual decaf instant coffee though! – Elizabeth
The de-caffeinated range is perfect to appease those coffee cravings withholding the taste but without the caffeine, allowing one to have a late night coffee without being kept up until the early hours. The post dinner coffee is no longer a no no for those that need an early night. – Phoebe
This was VERY nice. I would never normally consider a 4 thinking it would be too strong or bitter but this was lovely, in fact it is nearly finished. It has a nice kick to it but again no bitterness. It has a lovely round flavour but really leaves the palate quite clean. No lingering aftertaste. Probable not a coffee I would drink in the afternoon due to its strength but it is aptly named as a morning coffee. This one will absolutely be on my shopping list. – Gillian
WOW I love this coffee! It has a smooth mild taste which satisfied me! Easy to brew and smelt gorgeous. Hardly any bitterness and went down a treat! – Sarah
This is a lovely, mild flavoured coffee which is very drinkable. I thought this would be the ideal coffee to get me through even the trickiest of days; cup after cup – something to oil the wheels and make everything run more smoothly, without giving me the jitters! – Elizabeth
Well I don’t usually buy coffee below strength 3 but I must admit the Daily Grind was actually my favourite. As with the whole range, you can smell the roasted beans straightaway but there was a definite aroma of caramel too. This would be ideal for a coffee morning – you could easily convert instant coffee drinkers to ground coffee with this one! – Janet
Sunday Morning was obligatory to try 3 Sunday Best. Best cup so far, smooth, mild and lovely to drink. Have started having this every morning for a boost! – Sarah
My favourite of the five coffees. I could drink this for a month of Sundays! It has a fantastic rich and smooth flavour – really special. I will buy this coffee again for sure. Delicious! – Elizabeth
