Say Hello to Clipper Fairtrade and Organic Coffee

July 6th, 2011, 05:06

As you already know we love a cup of Clipper Tea, but for the month of July we are celebrating our delicious range of Fairtrade and Organic instant coffee.

We wanted to give our coffee a real introduction to everybody, so throughout the month we’ll have recipes, competitions and promotions all to do with our coffee. Make sure you’re first to find out by joining us on Facebook and Twitter.

As part of our celebrations we are also offering everybody 20% off of their coffee order from our shop this month.

We are so proud of our coffee we wanted to let you in on how our beans get from the field to your cup and then some:

Our coffee plants are grown organically on Fairtrade farms where workers receive fair pay and given good working conditions. Coffee begins as a bright fruit that resembles a cherry, each cherry typically contains two coffee beans. We then remove the Coffee beans from the fruit and dry them in the sunshine; these dried unroasted beans are known as green beans.

Dried beans are then roasted to bring out the unmistakeable flavour and aroma. When beans are being roasted it is not uncommon to hear a ‘popping’ sound similar to that of popcorn. Once the beans have been roasted and the air is thick with the smell of heaven, we grind them finely.

The roasted, ground beans are then used to produce a concentrated liquid extract using hot water; this liquid is freeze dried and packed to ensure a great tasting soluble coffee.

Our freeze-dried coffees are made with Fairtrade and Organic Arabica beans which come from different plantations around the world including Peru, Mexico, Tanzania, Ethiopia and Papua New Guinea.

So, sit back, put your feet up and ‘Say Hello to Clipper Fairtrade and Organic Coffee’ with 20% off from our shop.
